New handheld to feature OLED touchscreen, 3G, two cameras; slightly smaller than PSP-3000.
Codenamed the Next Generation Portable (NGP), the new handheld is set to release in "holiday 2011", and will include features such as 3G, Wi-Fi, a rear touchpad, OLED screen, and more.
The NGP will feature a 16:9 5-inch OLED touch screen, as well as a touch pad on the rear of the device which is the same size as the front screen. At 182mm x 18.6mm x 83.5mm (width x height x depth), the NGP is slighly smaller than the PSP-3000, but there was no detail released on how heavy the new handheld would be.
Gamers who lamented the lack of a second analog stick on the original PSP will be heartened to know that the NGP does indeed sport twin sticks, as well as Sixaxis motion sensing built into the device. Other notable features include two cameras (front and rear), built-in GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
